Accessibility you write, not retrofit
Learning objective
Build accessibility into the storyboard for assets, transcripts and headings.
01 · Hook
Why this matters
Most accessibility failures happen because the storyboard didn't carry the accessibility content in the first place. Then someone tries to fix it at the build stage and the fix is half-good.
02 · Core
Four things to write in the storyboard
Asset titles in sequence
"Teacher 1 audio", "Teacher 2 audio", "Teacher 3 audio". Consistent, concise, locating.
Transcript titles that match
"Teacher 1 audio transcript" beside "Teacher 1 audio". Never let the names drift.
Descriptive transcripts and captions
Describe sound, pauses, tone. Not just the words.
Image descriptions, written
Every meaningful image needs a description in words. Decorative images get marked as decorative.
03 · Practice
Try it
Choose
You have three teacher quotes on a screen. The best asset titles are:
04 · Carry
One thing to take back to work today
On your current storyboard, write the asset titles and transcript titles for every audio, video and image — before any of them are produced.
