Microsoft 365 — What Changed

This edition

Five changes pulled from the Microsoft 365 official release communications feed. Each is sourced. Dates are Microsoft's own general availability targets and can move.
  1. 1Understand how Copilot chat history will be scoped to each experience.
  2. 2Know what is changing in the Teams AI Interpreter.
  3. 3See how the Teams Facilitator now answers open questions.
  4. 4Learn what Mind Maps add to Copilot Notebooks.
  5. 5Track the Project Manager agent reaching general availability.

01 · Copilot chat history scoped to each experience

Microsoft 365 Copilot will show chat history scoped to the Copilot endpoint you are currently using, with an option to switch to an 'All chats' view. General availability is set for June 2026.
Takeaway: Past chats stop bleeding across surfaces, so finding the thread you want gets quicker.

02 · Teams AI Interpreter gets matched audio and captions

Three changes to simultaneous mode: interpreter audio and live captions now use the same selected language, admins can disable voice simulation, and speakers get distinct platform voices. General availability is set for July 2026.
Takeaway: Live multilingual meetings become easier to follow when the spoken and written translation agree.

03 · Teams Facilitator answers open questions

Facilitator detects open questions raised in a meeting and offers to answer them using web search. When a question goes unanswered, it posts a prompt and a participant can accept. General availability is set for July 2026.
Takeaway: Side questions can get answered in the meeting instead of becoming follow-up tasks.

04 · Mind Maps in Copilot Notebooks

Copilot Notebooks can generate an interactive map of a notebook's topics, themes and relationships, with node summaries and chat follow-up. Available across OneNote and the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, general availability May 2026.
Takeaway: A visual map of your notes gives a faster route into dense material than scrolling.

05 · Project Manager agent reaches general availability

The Project Manager agent helps plan, organise and track work, starting with core task and plan management. Microsoft now expects general availability in June 2026, with more capabilities to follow.
Takeaway: Routine project tracking can move to an agent, leaving you to handle the judgement calls.
Knowledge Check

When the Teams Facilitator detects an unanswered question, what does it do?

Correct. Facilitator offers an answer in the meeting; a participant chooses whether to accept it.
Not quite. It posts a prompt and a participant can accept a web-search answer.
