Lead: Dev Box and Azure Deployment Environments retirements
Both services began a closing-down process on 14 Sep 2026. Full detail in ms-official/2026-10-09.md.
- Azure Deployment Environments retires 22 February 2027 (567934). Microsoft’s guidance: inventory environments, templates, catalogues and workflows, then choose a replacement for environment provisioning and developer self-service. No specific successor service is named.
- Microsoft Dev Box retires 18 September 2028 (567933). In maintenance mode with no new features; existing use stays supported until retirement. Microsoft recommends planning a move to Windows 365.
Agent 365 integration with Azure API Management
Public preview (574204). Discover APIM gateways and MCP servers in Agent 365, control access with runtime enforcement by APIM, monitor tool activity, and add Defender and Purview protection. APIM v2 tiers support inventory and server-level blocking; the AI Gateway tier (itself in preview) adds per-tool blocking, observability and threat protection.
