E7 includes the Copilot seat
Microsoft Learn's licence comparison says Microsoft 365 E7, which it calls the Frontier Suite, became generally available on 1 May 2026. The page describes E7 as E5 plus Microsoft Copilot, the full Entra Suite, and Agent 365. It says E7 only adds. It does not remove E5 capabilities. The cost question for a company new to AI is whether you need that bundle or an add-on on the suite you have.
What the rows actually say
On the same page, E3 and E5 can take Microsoft Copilot as an add-on. E7 includes it. Security Copilot is listed with E5 and E7, not E3. Agent 365 is listed with E7, and the page also says Agent 365 can be a standalone add-on.
September does not rewrite the table
Home, Code and Autopilot were announced on 25 September 2026 as a staged experience, not as a new suite. The licence table is still the table. A Frontier rollout of a feature is not the same phrase as the Frontier Suite. Confusing them will put the wrong SKU in the budget.
Check the agreement, not this page
This reading is not a quote. Microsoft's product terms and your own agreement decide the price. FrontierOrg, a fictional method, tells its fictional finance lead the same thing, and it is still fiction. Do not lift a comparison table into a purchase order.
Monday
Write down the suite on the agreement, whether Copilot is an add-on or included, and whether anyone has asked for Agent 365 by name. Then ask why.
Which named workflow would actually use something E7 adds, that an add-on on your current suite would not?
