The customer does not see the draft
Copilot Cowork runs a multistep task and returns completed work. It has been generally available since 16 June 2026. Home, from 25 September, puts that work beside Chat. The risk is not that the draft exists. The risk is that someone sends it because it looks finished.
A bounded first experiment
Microsoft's own framing of a useful first try is an RFP response or a customer briefing: a narrow source set, a named deliverable, and a person who reads the result. Reported deployments, including a sales lead who turned a week of review into a morning, are examples, not a promise that your files will behave the same way.
Approval is the control
Chat answers. Cowork undertakes a longer task. Neither is a substitute for the approval path the team already uses for customer material. If the normal path is a manager's read, the Copilot path is still a manager's read. Skipping it because the file arrived faster is how a wrong sentence leaves the building.
Fiction makes the stop obvious
In the FrontierOrg method, a fictional coordinator may let an assistant compare a case with a delivery date and draft a reply. The assistant does not send the reply and does not alter the order. When the customer match fails, the assistant stops and hands the case back.
Monday
Pick one customer-facing document your team produced last month. Write the name of the person who approved it. That name stays on the document if Cowork drafts the next one.
What is the sentence your team is not willing to let a model attach to your name?
