Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention is introducing more granular, role-based access to the Devices page under Settings → Device Onboarding. Previously, viewing or managing device onboarding required broad administrative roles (such as Compliance Administrator, Global Administrator, or Security Administrator). With this update, organizations can grant access using least-privilege Purview role-based access control (RBAC) roles scoped specifically to device operations.

A new View-Only Device Management role enables users, such as auditors or security analysts, to view device onboarding status, search for devices, review configuration details, and export device data, without granting permission to change onboarding configuration or other administrative settings. Existing administrative roles continue to have full access, so current workflows are unaffected. This change helps organizations follow the principle of least privilege and simplifies granting read-only visibility into device onboarding without over-provisioning permissions.

Users can organize and merge PDF files in the Microsoft Edge built-in PDF reader. They can select pages to extract, delete, rotate, or reorder, and save the result as a new PDF file. They can also merge the open PDF file with other PDF files that are open in Microsoft Edge tabs or stored on their device, to create a single PDF file. Files are processed on the device, and the original files aren't modified. Admins can manage this feature using the PdfOrganizeAndMergeEnabled policy.

Intraday Agent is an autonomous AI agent that helps manage intraday operational scenarios. The following are its high‑level capabilities.

This feature enables employees to automatically generate expense entries for predictable, repeatable business expenses (for example, monthly mobile bills, internet charges, parking, and subscriptions) without manual re-entry each period. It reduces repetitive effort, improves compliance, and ensures timely and accurate expense submission, while respecting organizational expense policies and approval workflows.

Default meeting templates enable IT admins to automatically apply their organization’s preferred meeting settings whenever users schedule a Teams meeting through Outlook or Teams calendar. This helps organizations apply meeting settings (including protection settings) at scale, and reduce the need for organizers to manually configure meeting options. Only organizers with a Teams Premium (T-Pre) license assigned can use Default Meeting Templates.

When you add a Teams meeting to an event in Outlook for Mac, the join link and dial-in details now appear in the invite while you're still writing it. A new Meeting Options button lets you change the Teams meeting settings right away, before you send.

Connect Business Central to Microsoft Fabric to make business data available for analytics, reporting, and data integration.

Choose the Business Central companies and tables to synchronise, and make the data available in OneLake for use with Fabric IQ, Power BI, Data Factory, and other analytics experiences.

Get started quickly with ready-made sample Power BI apps, while built-in logging provides visibility into synchronisation health and helps troubleshoot issues.

AI Interpreter for Events brings real-time, AI-powered audio interpretation to Teams Town Halls and Webinars, helping global audiences follow events in their preferred language. Organizers can configure supported languages for their event, giving attendees a more natural and engaging multilingual experience beyond translated captions.

Microsoft Teams is expanding Markdown support in the compose box, giving you more ways to structure and format messages using familiar Markdown syntax. Create richer, more readable messages while staying in the Markdown authoring experience.

Admins can enable a policy that

plays an audio announcement when recording or transcription starts. This can be

applied tenant-wide or to specific groups. The announcement helps ensure all

participants are informed and improves accessibility awareness.

Legal plugins in Copilot provide purpose-built skills to help legal professionals summarize, draft, review, and redline legal documents. Available in Word and Cowork, these plugins can use work context from Microsoft 365 and connect to supported third-party legal sources.

Cloud Update is expanding rollback options for devices on Monthly Enterprise Channel. Administrators will be able to roll back devices to a release from two versions prior, with the latest available security updates for that release, and keep devices in the rolled-back state across subsequent releases until they are ready to resume updates. This provides additional time to investigate and resolve compatibility issues while maintaining security coverage and centralized control through the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center.

Keep communication more accessible throughout your meeting. You can now pop out a sign language interpreter into a separate, resizable window that stays visible across monitors and apps. Designed to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing users, the sign language interpreter's popout video will persist while viewers are multitasking, sharing content, or changing meeting layouts.

Microsoft Teams is introducing a new way to organize and access important resources in chats and channels. Users will be able to pin key content, including links, files, and messages, directly beneath the chat or channel header for quick access. Resources can also be organized into folders, making it easier to keep important information visible and discoverable in active conversations. This update provides a more consistent experience across chats and channels, helping users stay organized, quickly find key resources, and remain aligned on important information. Existing pinned messages will continue to be available within the new experience, alongside other shared resources, on Teams desktop and web.

OneDrive Sync supports syncing up to 1 million items on macOS devices, helping teams manage large document libraries and shared content at scale without compromising access across devices. This preview requires the Insiders ring and that devices meet minimum hardware and configuration requirements. Devices that don't meet these requirements continue to sync at the existing 300,000-item supported limit with no disruption.

The Campaigns Hub in Viva Engage provides a centralized mobile destination where employees can discover and participate in organizational campaigns. Available in the Viva Engage app and Viva Engage in Teams mobile, the hub highlights top and sponsored campaigns, enables users to browse active and completed campaigns, and makes it easy to view campaign details and follow the campaigns that matter to them.

Microsoft 365 Copilot makes PDF reviews faster and easier on mobile. Select text in any PDF in OneDrive iOS and tap Ask Copilot to explain, summarize, translate, or ask a custom question about the selection — the same in-context Copilot experience already generally available on desktop, now on OneDrive iOS. Updated October 20, 2026: We have decided not to move forward with this change at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Facilitator can now join meetings set up in Teams channels. Facilitator helps participants run more effective meetings through the ability to take live notes, manage the agenda, answer questions, and capture tasks.

Previously, auto expanding archive mailbox expansion was supported only up to 1.5 TB, after which mailboxes would become inoperative. Archive mailboxes can now automatically expand beyond the 1.5 TB limit, ensuring uninterrupted retention and enabling scalable archive growth as storage thresholds are reached. This capability to expand archive beyond 1.5 TB will be available to customers with eligible E5 licenses.

Users can export de-identified, row-level agent metrics and attributes from the Agent Dashboard. Exported data provides detailed insights into agent usage and user-level agent interactions across the organization, with personal identifiers removed.

New improvements are coming to the rollout wave functionality for Cloud Update. These enhancements will allow organizations to continue leveraging Microsoft Entra ID groups to set up rollout waves, with increased flexibility to configure more than the current limit of three waves. Additionally, admins will be able to assign custom delays between each wave, streamlining phased deployments and offering greater control over update distribution.

You can now reference files saved in SharePoint libraries and OneDrive folders when creating a presentation with Copilot using Agent Mode in PowerPoint.

Earlier, permissions were synced only in the periodic full crawl which generally ha a default frequency of 1 day for most of the connectors. Now, we have support for doing permission syncs more frequently in an incremental way.

Powered by Engage MCP, this enhanced experience takes Copilot in Engage beyond catch-ups and summaries, helping users explore conversations more deeply, synthesize discussions, and uncover meaningful insights.

It's also more deeply connected across Microsoft 365. For example, you can ask Copilot to analyze feedback on a leader's post, identify key themes, and turn those insights into a reusable PowerPoint deck.

With Work IQ integration, Copilot also has a better understanding of you and your work context, connecting conversations in Engage to your broader work across Microsoft 365.

Engage MCP expands both the breadth and depth of Engage scenarios Copilot can support, making it more useful for understanding conversations and insights across your Engage network.

This update also brings Copilot in Engage closer to the broader Microsoft 365 Copilot experience, with your Microsoft 365 agents now accessible directly within Copilot in Engage.

Update Repair helps admins identify Windows devices with Microsoft 365 Apps that are out of date or experiencing update issues. In the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center, admins can review device status and recommended actions, remotely start Online Repair for eligible devices, and follow manual remediation guidance for devices that need attention. Repair reinstalls Microsoft 365 Apps using the latest available build for the device’s configured update channel.

Zero-effort task completion enables project managers and team members to mark tasks as complete even when no effort was planned or recorded. This capability supports milestones, administrative activities, checklists, and other tasks that track completion without requiring work hours.

This is for both Project Operations core and Project Operations connected with ERP deployment types.

Enable Microsoft Copilot Studio agents to browse and interact with websites as a native capability powered by the GitHub Copilot Harness. Using natural-language instructions, agents can navigate web pages, extract information, and download files. Agents can then use that information and those files alongside other tools to complete end-to-end workflows, extending their reach beyond configured knowledge sources and API-based integrations.

Reduce repetitive tax setup when you import Shopify orders that contain multiple United States tax jurisdictions. Shopify Tax Matching suggests how free-text tax lines map to configured tax jurisdictions and keeps you in control of exceptions before you create sales documents.

Details

The Shopify Tax Matching capability is available in public preview for organizations in the United States that use the Shopify connector. When standard tax-area mapping doesn't resolve an imported order, the capability uses AI to suggest tax jurisdictions based on Shopify tax-line titles and rates, configured tax jurisdictions, and limited ship-to location information.

You can review each suggestion, confidence level, explanation, and rate before approving the final mapping. Configure which matches require review and whether the capability can create missing tax jurisdictions and tax areas. Unidentified jurisdictions and rate differences always require review.

Shopify Tax Matching maps imported tax descriptions to tax setup. It doesn't calculate tax, determine tax liability, file tax returns, or replace professional tax advice.

Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is expanding to Microsoft Cowork, enabling data security admins to use a single policy across Microsoft 365 Copilot and Cowork. The integration helps protect sensitive AI interactions by preventing the use of labeled knowledge sources, blocking prompts that contain supported sensitive information types, and restricting sensitive prompts from being sent to Bing for web search.

The new Meeting Shared Files feature allows users to add relevant files and links to their meeting for easy access and to automatically share that content with all meeting participants. AI in the meeting, like the Facilitator agent, uses these files for targeted grounding to answer questions and enhance skill functionality.

External call routing will provide users the ability to redirect all external phone calls to either voicemail or their unanswered settings.

Session and Response Sharing let Microsoft 365 Copilot users share Copilot chat content through a link. Session Sharing shares a full chat session, while Response Sharing shares a single Copilot response. The shared content opens as a read-only view, and recipients can continue from it in their own Copilot chat. This gives Copilot users an easier and more controlled way to share useful Copilot outputs with coworkers instead of copying and pasting. It helps teams reuse work, share context, and collaborate more efficiently while keeping sharing within organizational controls.

When a Teams Rooms on Android is invited as a meeting presenter, the front-of-room display defaults to the attendee view. Presenters always have full control from the console, including green room and off-stage management, and can switch the front-of-room display to presenter view without impacting attendees. Available in Teams Rooms Pro.
